“Wait, what is OUTstanding?” you say. Well, OUTstanding is an annual, public and free seminar for ALL University of Tennessee Knoxville students, faculty, staff and the surrounding community. But of course, it’s also for all identities and backgrounds including lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and queer (LGBTIQ) and ally-identified college students and community members. It’s a space for the celebration of LGBTIQ and multicultural visibility, intersectionality, and coalition building around LGBTIQ issues on our campus and in our community and campuses and communities nationwide.
OUTstanding is a seminar exploring LGBTIQ diversity. OUTstanding is The University of Tennessee Knoxville, with their commitment to diversity and civility. OUTstanding is Saturday, October 22nd 2011. Our university and community is OUTstanding. Our history of standing up and speaking out for equality is OUTstanding. You are OUTstanding!
